tradition

Rafel Muria Queralt born the year 1810 is the first reference of the photos of the ancestors Muria.
Rafel Muria Llambrich born the year 1850, is the son of the previous. He was the founder and president in the year 1888 of the first “Ligajo de colmenas” (actually we call it an association), with a total of 225 associaters and 1.820 “registrated beehives”.
He was one of the first bee-keepers from Perelló that changed the old beehive made of straw and cork for a new wood one, with a square shape and that later on it would be called Layens. With these beehives the “transhumància”(move beehives to places where there is bloosom) began to be practiced.

Rafel Muria Galve born the year 1901, devoted his life from a very young age to the work with bees. With 235 beehives in his reach and as part of this work: the transhumància, he searched for the best blossoms in all of the propertys and propertys from the neighbour villages of Perelló. One of the best propertys was owned by Rafel of Frauquero which is inbetween Vinyessa (L`Ametlla de mar) and the property of Mestra (Alcanar).

The year 1929 Rafel Muria Benet was born. When he was only sixteen years old, his father made him responsible of all of the work related to bee-keeping. The beehive made of 20 mobile frames was replaced with one with 18, then 16 and finally 12 mobile frames, as they are actually. He was one of the first bee-keepers of Perelló to introduce this type of beehive. He continues the “transhumància” though all of Catalonia, Terol and Valencia. His transport evolutioned slowly, he started like his father, with horse and cart, motobike, on the train, and bicycle and finally with a lorry.

Rafel Muria i Martí, born the year 1964, son of the previous, with his brother in law Vicent Brull Llaó born the year 1955, without stopping the craftsmanship of the work, they have found out how to potence the work with new technology, left behind by their ancestors.
