Mel Muria, the more popular name used for S.A.T LIMITADA APÍCOLA EL PERELLÓ 1363-CAT, is a company that has been working with bees for 6 generations. There are written records of our activities since 1810, passing on traditional knowledge from generation to generation.
Today, Mel Muria continues using traditional bee pollination between the different flora of our territory in order to obtain the highest quality natural products such as honey, pollen, propolis and royal jelly.
The main activity of our company is the production, packaging and marketing of honey (rosemary, orange, thyme, thousand flower…) produced by our own facilities. We currently have over 2000 hives. The honey we produce, marketed under the brand name Mel Muria, is sold throughout Catalonia and the rest of Spain.
Our honey is of extraordinary quality. This is well-endorsed by the numerous awards obtained in various national and international competitions.
In 1999, Mel Muria set up a beekeeping museum (visitor centre) with old tools used to work honey, various documents relating to the beekeeping history in Ebro Lands and the popular together with the well-known “honey-fountain”.
All this constitutes added value to our company, complemented by the initiative of guided visits to the museum, field trips to learn about the life of bees and organized educational workshops to disseminate all that surrounds the curious world of bees and honey. For this reason, we organize visits for schools, travel agencies, pensioner associations, ladies’ associations and among many other social groups.
The caring side of Mel Muria is fully expressed through their permanent collaboration with non-profit and non-governmental organizations. The company is presence and participates in national and international trade fairs and conferences
